Harry Styles: Style Evolution
If boyband style is all about coordinating colours and matching outfits, Harry Styles has never really paid attention. As his career has hit the big time, the One Direction member has traded teen-friendly Jack Wills tracksuits for an enviable and expansive selection of Saint Laurent, Gucci and Burberry.
Long the most directional dresser of the fivesome, it was around early 2013, aged 19, that Harry began to break away from the textbook boyband mould. It started with a little printed Burberry shirt here, a skinny-jean-and-boots combination there, all complemented with his growing collection of scrapbookish tattoos. His peers might have continued to sport boyish trainers, hoodies and leather jackets, but Harry upgraded his sartorial focus. As the year ended, Harry had collected a British Fashion Award for his personal style.

By the time One Direction took to the road in 2014 for the Where We Aretour, Harry rarely stepped out without wearing a piece of Hedi Slimane'sSaint Laurent. Tuxedo jackets, printed shirts, the Wyatt boots and silk scarves became regular features of his on and off-stage style.
2017 marked a sharper, smarter, Gucci-heavy aesthetic for the 23-year-old. Having cut his famous hair off for his Dunkirk role, Harry went on the promo trail for his debut solo album with a style confidence many of the world's leading men should take note of.

Candyfloss pink suits, printed satin flares, gradually heightening heels - his flamboyant looks of late are no easy feat to pull off. Fans champion his ability to blur the lines of gender identity but what also is worth taking note is his ease with which he does it. Harry wears the clothes well and few high-profile stars rival both his sartorial adventure or ability to push the barriers of menswear.
And so it seems almost inevitable that Harry should take his sartorial commitment one step further. In 2018, Gucci announced that he would become the face of its tailoring campaign just several days short of him beginning his world stadium tour.
